This course is designed to deepen your understanding of risk assessment and risk management in health and social care beyond the Level 1 course. It provides a thorough exploration of the legislation, policies, and guidance related to risk assessment and management. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the process, with a focus on the Health and Safety Executive’s ‘five steps’ to risk assessment. The course progresses by teaching how to develop effective risk management plans, using real-world case studies to apply the concepts learned. As you advance, you will delve into the process of individual risk assessment, where you will learn to apply a ‘positive risk assessment’ approach and a ‘strengths-based approach’ to support individuals. The final module emphasizes the importance of partnership working and the sharing of information when supporting individuals in managing their own risks, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.
